What if the goal when working with a personal trainer (PT) wasn’t to change how you look–your ornamental status–but the goal instead was to help you tune your instrument so that you can better and more easily move through and engage with the world in the ways that you choose?

We’ll bring your mind into the mix: Why do you want to exercise in the first place?
 
No, this isn’t about “Start With Why,” and making sure you have a motivating enough reason. 
 
I mean, what made you think the thought, “I want to exercise”?
 
 
It was your mind! You had a thought about it! And you listened to it and believed it! So then you took action!
 
Most PTs are only focused and trained on the action part of that process: DO the crunches. RUN the miles. SQUAT the barbell. 
 
So when you as the client inevitably stop DOING the things–aka SHOWING UP for the sessions–that’s as far as the training with most PTs can go.
 
But when you recognize that the reason behind the action is what’s happening in your mind, you can go deeper, and the training can and does keep going, even when you’re not DOING the exercise things!

Intuitive Fitness Coaching

What is it?

Weekly 50 minute, 1-on-1 coaching sessions via Zoom (12 sessions total)

What will our sessions look like?

25 minutes will be doing personal training & 25 minutes will be talking and coaching

How long is the commitment?

An initial commitment of 12 weeks, with an option to continue on after that.

How much does it cost?

$750 total, or 3 payments of $250

FAQ

Everything is online, so you can sign up to work with me from anywhere in the world. (Although scheduling our live coaching sessions might get tricky if you’re very far from the Central Time Zone.)

I totally get it. Pretty much everything in the world tells us that is the ultimate solution to most every problem. I am a non-diet personal trainer, so I cannot and will not help you lose weight. 

If you’re onboard with the concept of non-diet, but it feels sort of scary and you just have no idea how to go about living in a non-diet way, I can help with that. I would ask that you think of this program as an experiment where the desire for weight loss cannot be a variable to account for. So I’m not asking you to give it up forever, just for our 3 months together. I believe that after our time together, you will see why the desire to lose weight is based in bad science, shame, & oppression, and is actually holding you back from adopting true health-promoting behaviors, which is what truly will help you live a fun and fulfilling life–on your own terms.

If you aren’t sure that you can set aside the desire to lose weight for 3 months, I would ask that you look back on my content about weight, fatphobia, and Health At Every Size to get more information about why attempting weight loss isn’t useful, and hold off on signing up until you are ready. No judgment at all. We all learn at our own pace, and you’re the expert of you.

This program is not for you if you:

  • Are a man.
  • Want to lose weight.
  • Are currently struggling with an eating disorder.
  • Are racist, sexist, homophobic, anti-vaxx, a TERF, or a Nazi. 
  • Can’t handle cuss words or adult topics.
  • Are looking for a guru to put on a pedestal.
  • Have been advised by a doctor to not engage in physical activity.
