There is NO better feeling…🥰

SIMPLY. THE. BEST.⁠

What about this one? Can you smell this photo?

You cannot tell me that there is ANY better feeling than leaving a pool.

When you swam laps, took a shower, and are walking out with squeaky clean skin, hair still wet, & a bag heavy with a wet towel slung over your shoulder…

That is SIMPLY. THE. BEST.

Or, a close second might be leaving the softball field at the end of a sweaty, grimy, hard fought game with a Fla-Vor-Ice popsicle slicing the sides of your mouth…

OH! Actually, the most delicious, wonderful, glorious feeling EVER is when you get to stand in a cold shower after practicing in a hot ass gym with no air conditioning all day, and you’re drenched from head to toe in sweat, so you literally don’t even take your clothes off, because they’re plastered to your body.

THAT is the best feeling ever.

Then the food after those moments. The food is SO GOOD. All of it. Any of it. So satisfying!

Have I mentioned the sleep?! Talk about sleeping like a baby!!! That is SOME REST at the end of those days.

It ALL just felt so good!

But not until AFTER.

I had to do the hard things. The things that didn’t feel delicious in the moment. The things that made me physically uncomfortable.

But then…

The reward was that much greater because of it.

And those are just the physical rewards.

Even more than how incredibly luscious it felt to be clean, fed, and tired after those intense days, I also felt…

  • SATISFACTION that I gave all I had
  • AMAZED knowing that this kind of energy is a renewable resource & a great way to get more is to give more
  • ACCOMPLISHED for doing the hard thing, knowing I often very dislike the hard thing
  • CONFIDENT in my ability, strength, & commitment
  • ENCOURAGED that I can do this again

Just like last week, we don’t actually do the hard things because we like the hard things. (We, in fact, DO NOT like the hard things. That’s why they’re called that.)

We do them because of how it makes us feel.

I KNOW IT SEEMS LIKE WE SHOULD EXERCISE BECAUSE WE LIKE TO EXERCISE.

But what if we exercise because of how it makes us feel at the end of it?

Not during.

And what if we motivate ourselves to exercise because of how we make ourselves feel about it?

Not by thinking about what we’re going to do during it.

WHAT IF EXERCISE IS NOT ABOUT THE EXERCISES AT ALL, BUT ABOUT HOW YOU WANT TO FEEL?!

Huh?! What then?!?!?!
