If so: Congratulations, you are very normal!
And I would like to help you reframe that thought! (aka COACH you!)
Trying things once and then not making a habit out of it is NOT a failure.
Even if your goal was to make it a habit.
You just didn’t have enough information or resources at that time. Then the message Toxic Fitness Culture gives you is: that means you’re bad/lazy/a failure/undisciplined.
BUT THAT IS NOT TRUE OR ACCURATE!
And because Toxic Fitness Culture has taken control over what that means about you, you haven’t been able to actually learn from all the times you tried something once and stopped.
THAT’S WHAT COACHING IS FOR!
There is a LOT of great data to collect from all those times you went to one workout class and never again. But with only Toxic Fitness Culture screaming in your ear, you’ll never figure out what all that delicious data is or means!
So I’d like to offer you an Intentional Thought in case you’re on the fence about signing up for class:
Even if I take this class and only do the workout this one time, it will be a WIN, because… (choose your own adventure)
-moving my body makes me feel better, even without it becoming a habit.
-I will see what exercise without diet culture & Toxic Fitness Culture is like.
-I might get more in tune with my body and how it feels, whereas I normally tend to ignore everything from my neck down.
-there will be something I learn from just taking it one time that I wouldn’t have otherwise known.
-it doesn’t have to be hard to count.
