All the good things movement gives you!

Some fitness truths:

  • Yes, Toxic Fitness Culture is real and oppressive and tells us in a million different ways why we are failing at health and fitness.
  • No, that doesn’t mean you have to give up in the face of it.
  • Maybe it’s going to take longer than you’d like to find the middle ground, but… what are you doing in the meantime?

Everytime a gym bro tells someone they need to go to the gym, then judges someone for being fat in a gym…

That is actually highlighting the REAL priority of Toxic Fitness Culture: ranking people according to the Body Hierarchy.

(A million thanks to Sonya Renee Taylor for that.)

Sonya Renee Taylor quote from her book "The Body Is Not An Apology"

And every time TFC convinces you that your movement should be to get you higher up that hierarchy–even if it’s literally impossible–it convinces you that there are no other benefits to moving your body.

And nothing could be further from the truth.

Toxic Fitness Culture wants to keep you from having all the good things that movement can give you.

Better sleep, less crunchy knees, fewer aches and stiffness, better focus, more energy, feeling capable and strong, for god’s sake!

You don’t have to check out of the fitness and movement realm entirely to avoid Toxic Fitness Culture.

You just have to find the right spaces for you.

That’s what Intuitive Fitness is.

A place where you drop the guilt and shame about exercise that’s been (incorrectly) put on your shoulders, discover what you DO have control over, and take back your power, authority, and reasons for moving that FIT FOR YOU!

What do you want out of fitness?!?!?!

Find your answer, and I promise it’s a lot more motivating than trying to climb the Body Hierarchy ladder.

We work on all of this and more in 1:1 Intuitive Fitness Coaching.

I’d love if you tried it for yourself.
