Have I mentioned that I’m a mind reader?

Because I am.

I know just what you need to help you with those summer fitness goals you set a month or two ago…

Oh, is that not what you wanted me to give you?

You wanted me to give you motivation? Accountability? A kick in the ass to get you back on track?

#SorryNotSorry. Not gonna happen.

When you look for those things from external sources, it’s because you think you are “supposed” to be measuring up to some external standard.

Which means you are shoulding all over yourself.

Which is a cognitive distortion.

Which is a fancy way of saying: Your Brain Is Lying To You.

“I should work out more,” is a cognitive distortion. A lie. A tortuous falsehood.

Do you want to workout more? Or do you not? (No judgment either way! Honestly.)

There is no “should.”

Now… if you want to want to workout more… that is a different story!

P.S.: Reply to this e-mail with “should” and we can talk about how to WANT to want to workout more.
