Right now, Toxic Fitness Culture & Diet Culture have us convinced that when WE keep our power, we aren’t using it correctly, we’re too lazy, we don’t know HOW to use it.
They taught us to beat ourselves up, speak harshly to ourselves, and hold ourselves to an impossible standard, and then tell us that’s what happens when we own our power.

If you’re in the USA, don’t forget that tomorrow is Election Day, so maybe you want to use your power in that regard.
Some suggestions:
1. Make a voting plan; where is your polling place, what time can you go, will you be able to wait in line, if necessary?
2. Research the full ballot, especially your local elections, like judges, initiatives, and dog catcher
3. Plan what kind of self-care you’ll need throughout the day/week; will watching live updates make you feel good or bad? How late do you want to stay up (doomscrolling) when you know the decision will almost certainly NOT be made on Election Day? Can you plan activities to look forward to this week to help occupy your mind?
